Born in Jordan, Geda moved to the United States in 1971 with her family. Geda graduated from the University of Washington with a BS degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering in 1977. She worked for the Boeing Company in a number of assignments including weights engineering, propulsion technology, customer engineering and marketing. Geda retired from Boeing after twenty years of service.
Geda and her husband Phil now spend their time on not-for-profit activities. Together they founded the Jordan Education Trust and serve on its board. Geda is on the boards of After School Matters in Chicago, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, Seniors Making Art in Seattle and Barbara Sinatra Childrenís Center in California. She Chairs the Chicago-Amman sister city committee, is a member of the Council of One Hundred of the World Economic Forum and the International Advisory Committee of Colorado College.
