Biography: Susan Leonis is the founder and leader of The Leonis Group. With more than twenty-five years of experience dealing with local, regional and federal governments Ms. Leonis has also served as top aide to two Illinois Governors and was second in command of the Illinois Department of Transportation. Due to her dedicated service and unique understanding of the state’s transportation system, the Governor appointed her to the Board of Directors of the Chicago Transit Authority, which today ranks among the top ten mass transit agencies in the world.
In government and at The Leonis Group, her reputation is that of a focused, hard driving leader who excels in developing and implementing communications and government relation’s campaigns. She is well known and respected by government leaders of each political party, CEO’s and key opinion makers throughout the Midwest.
Ms. Leonis also has a very involved civic life. She is the Co-Chair of the Amman Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International Program, vice-chair of the Chicago Transit Authority, and sits on the board of After School Matters.
