WELCOME

As Mayor and on behalf of the City of Chicago, I welcome you to the new Chicago Sister Cities International Program website.
Since its inception, Sister Cities has built bridges between the people of Chicago and our international neighbors to achieve greater mutual understanding and to strengthen our civic, economic and cultural ties. Through people-to-people programs and cultural exchanges, we have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all our communities.
Chicago has always been a city of immigrants and we are proud of our city’s diversity – an attribute that has afforded the establishment of a Sister City presence in nearly every region of the world. In today’s increasingly global society, Chicago looks forward to continuing to strengthen and expand our international partnerships.
I invite you to explore the Chicago Sister Cities website to learn more about the various ways we are bringing Chicago to the world, and the world to Chicago.

Sincerely,

Richard M. Daley
Mayor
