The Grammy-nominated Chicago Chamber Musicians is proud to perform the North American premiere of Avner Dorman’s Jerusalem Mix. CCM co-commissioned the work with the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, where the piece premiered in September 2007 at the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed festival under the leadership of Artistic Director Elena Bashkirova, wife of Daniel Barenboim.![]()
“A former student of mine at Juilliard, Avner Dorman is from Israel where he won the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award. Now based in Los Angeles, his works are very theatrical, highly emotional and highly intelligent. He has been signed to a Schirmer exclusive contract which is very rare for a composer nowadays.” - John Corigliano (Academy Award-winning composer of The Red Violin)
CCM ensemble artists Larry Combs, clarinet; Michael Henoch, oboe; Gail Williams, horn; and Dennis Michel, bassoon will be joined by Israeli-born pianist Eliran Avni, who makes his Chicago debut.
