GOTHENBURG: New Gothenburg Chair Appointed

On May 26, 2010, Agneta Rosenberg of Chicago was officially appointed by Mayor Richard M. Daley as the chair of the Gothenburg Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International.

Rosenberg, a native of Sweden, is the president and founder of Interim Ventures that assists Swedish IT and Internet companies to reduce time and expense to the U.S. market, close initial customer and partner deals, and build the foundation for successful expansion. She previously worked for the Swedish Trade Council, 1994 – 2000 and IBM, 1982 – 1994. Rosenberg graduated from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1982, with a BA in International Marketing and Finance. She has studied Journalism at Northwestern University and Digital Strategy and Innovation at the University of Chicago.

Rosenberg is also a member of the Chicago Technology Executives Club, Illinois Information Technology Association and Chicago Women in Technology. She is a board member and VP of Communications of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Chapter. She was previously the president of the Swedish Women’s Educational Association (SWEA) Chicago Chapter and the secretary of the Mid-America regional SWEA organization.
