Mayor Richard M. Daley met with the Hamburg youth soccer team HSV on July 29. The Chicago Sister Cities Hamburg Committee hosted the team that participated in the 2009 World Sport Chicago International Cup, July 30 – August 2. The team has been one of the Cup leaders since 2004. The Chicago program for the team included tours, networking events and a volunteer service day as a way of giving back to Chicago. 2009 World Sport Chicago International Cup is organized by Illinois Youth Soccer Association in collaboration with World Sport Chicago, the Chicago Fire and Chicago Sister Cities Hamburg Committee.
