WORLD FASHION CHICAGO CELEBRATES CHICAGO’S
GLOBAL CONNECTION TO FASHION SEPTEMBER 30 FOR ITS FOURTH ANNUAL RUNWAY SHOW AT MILLENNIUM PARK, AFTER-PARTY AT CUVEE
www.worldfashionchicago.com

(September 2009) – World Fashion Chicago will return to the Harris Rooftop at Millennium Park on Wednesday, September 30, for its fourth turn on the runway. Building upon the tremendous success of past shows, Chicago Sister Cities International will once again feature some of the hottest international fashions, showcasing high-end designers that represent each of Chicago’s 28 sister cities. A testament to Chicago’s burgeoning fashion industry, the show will feature more than 35 local and international designers, including a select number of internationally based talent looking to make their mark on the Chicago fashion scene.

This year’s Mistress of Ceremonies will be Linda Yu, one of Chicago’s most respected and well-known broadcasters and anchor of ABC-7, and the Step & Repeat Host will be Tsi-tsi-ki Felix, Emmy award winning TV anchor for Telemundo-Chicago.

In anticipation of Friday’s 2016 Olympic decision, Chicago Sister Cities will kick off the event with the “Hello Sister” video, which was created for the IOC visit and narrated by Oprah Winfrey, as well some 2016-inspired designs.

“Chicago has always been a diverse city, and nowhere is this more evident than in the city’s growing fashion industry,” said Mayor Richard M. Daley. “Through World Fashion Chicago, Chicago Sister Cities International, not only showcases Chicago’s 28 Sister Cities but also celebrates the internationally-inspired fashion designers who live and work in our city.”

Designs from sister cities such as fashion meccas Paris, Milan, Prague and others will take the stage at the Harris Rooftop Terrace at Millennium Park. World Fashion Chicago will provide a unique and exciting convergence of fashions from around the world, featuring high-end apparel by designers who have roots in all 28 of Chicago’s international sister cities.

This year’s show will feature a mix of high-end designers, including local talent like Melissa Serpico, Vika Brown, John Shultz and Anna Fong. World Fashion will also feature five designers who are traveling to Chicago to be featured in the show including: Amman, Jordan; Casablanca, Morocco; Petach Tikva, Israel; Vilnius, Lithuania; and Shanghai, China.

The evening will continue with an after-party at Cuvee, Chicago’s newest ultra-lounge.
